One of main moments at the choice of the system of game of roulette is choice of the system of placing the bets.
Betting system is the set of rules which was used for determination of amount and placing of bets.
What advantages does betting system give?Many people say that they play roulette without a system. But actually they some sort of system in any case. It is possible to put on your birthday, or the day of death of your mother-in-law, it is possible to throw chips on a table without looking- in any case it is some betting system. Primary purpose of the betting system is to formalize your actions at the game of roulette. At the use of the system you do a bet by some before planned rules and these rules canít be influenced by ardour and by sudden gust and protect you from rash actions. Some players claim that they know a betting system without the risk of loss which always wins. Thus majority of them wish to sell you this system. Understand that people have been playing roulette for more than three hundred years and it was studied intently by many people. If unloosing betting system would exist then roulette tables would have been thrown out long time ago. There are no magic systems -there is only success. The good betting system allows you to multiply your winning when you are lucky and to minimize losses when the fortune is against you, and nothing more than it.
It is necessary to define the following at the choice of the betting system:- what chances a next bet will be on. What bets to do: external (simple chances, dozens/columns), internal (sixlines, square, kare,lines, splits, numbers) or their combinations?
- amount of a next bet. How to change (to increase/decrease) the amount of a next bet compared to previous.

At first let us consider CORRELATION of RISK of BET And AMOUNT of POSSIBLE WINNING.
It is known that the more possible winning the higher the risk of loss of bet. Is reverse reasoning possible - the less the risk of loss, the less possible is winning.
How is it possible to multiply the possible winning?
1. To increase the amount of bet. But the possibility of a loss is also increased.
2. To do a bet on other chance. For example, instead of doing bet on a simple chance to do a bet on a dozen. But the risk of loss increases.
How is it possible to decrease the risk of loss (the amount of the possible winning decreases)?
1. To decrease the amount of bet - the amount of possible loss decreases.
2. To do a bet on other chance. For example, , instead of doing bet on a simple chance, do a bet on two dozens.
3. To divide a bet into a few successive bets of less amount.
We will consider the last on an example:
There are 10 chips. At a bet of 10 chips on a simple chance, winning probability is 10 chips 0,49%, loss is 10 chips - 0,51%. At 10 bets with 1 chip each on a simple chance winning probability is 10 chips 0,00074%, loss is10 chips - 0,001275025%. In second case probability to lose 10 chips decreases in 402 times but also probability to win 10 chips decreases in 655 times.
We speak about probability here. Probability enables to give some quantative estimation of risk but not it is not a law which is always necessarily executed. At the real game it is possible to lose and win 10 bets in succession. Learn to accept these probabilities in a right way. For example, according to statistics 23 or 24 numbers drop out on the average for 37 spins, and 10 from them drop out twice, and 2 or 3 numbers - three times. At first it seems that on the average there should drop out all 37 numbers of 37. Very often at the game of roulette the preference is given to the bets on simple chances. There are serious reasons to suppose that this is not the optimal option.
A casino wants the game to run as along as possible because a casino takes an advantage in the final. It is logical to assume that player has an opposite purpose - to make the game as short as possible and win the maximal amount of money for the minimum amount of spins. We will compare two simplest systems of game of roulette.
First system: five successive bets on simple chances with 1 chip each. Maximal winning 5 chips, maximal loss 5 chips.
Second system: five successive bets on one number with 1 chip each. Maximal winning 175 chips, maximal loss 5 chips. Even if one bet wins then winning will make 31 chips.
You can do the simplest calculations of correlation of chances and amount of the possible winning. Of course the risk to lose 5 chips is considerably less. But at the use of the first system there is no possibility of getting appreciable winning quickly.
We are constantly saying that roulette is the game of case. If a fortune smiled to you though on a moment - you should use this chance.
Letís get back to the simple chances.
Letís assume that we did a bet with 1 chip on black and lost it. Is it possible to return a loss and in addition to get winning by a next bet? Certainly - it is possible to increase the amount of bet or either to do a bet on other chance (dozen, sixline, kare ...) or do both at the same time. In the simplest case we increase the amount of bet up to 2 chips, and do this bet again on black. We lost again. Now general loss is 3 chips. For compensation of the accumulated loss and receiving a minimum winning, we do the following bet: 4 chips on black. Again we lost - general loss is 7 chips and the next bet is 8 chips. Thus, at winning even of one bet we cover all previous losses and remain in a plus. Some time weíll get lucky and then we will be gainers.
Ideal system? Yes, an ideal system of winning a roulette. This system was thought up quite a long time ago and itís called Martingale
But it is impossible to carry it out in reality as any ideal system. There is usually a limitation on the maximum amount of bet in a casino. But it doesnít matter. It is possible to change a table on other with the large limits of bets. It is possible to play with a team.
Letís it count up. After a loss of10 bets in succession it is necessary to do a bet in amount of 1024 chips. And winning will make only 1 chip. Is it worth to go to a casino with 2000$ in order to win 1$? And what if 11th bet is lost? Certainly, it is possible to count probabilities and reason, that 0,13% is almost zeroing probability.
Leave these calculations to the "theorists", there are times when black doesnít drop out in 10 and 15 times in succession and it happens much more frequent than seems. It is better to fall off a chair for twenty times than one time from a fourth floor. And is it impossible to soften your falling? It is possible. For example it is possible to increase the amount of bet so that winning of one bet compensated the loss of two previous. Letís consider it in more details (it is pretty interesting method of record, it will be useful later ):

Sixth bet 5+8 = 13 chips -itís a winning. (we cross out 5 and 8, a record looks like 1,2,3)
Next bet 2+3 = 5 chips- itís a winning. (we cross out 2 and 3, a record looks like 1)
Next bet is 1 chip...
To lose we did 5 bets, win back - 3 bets.
But it is possible to calculate the amount of bet in other way. By one bet we will try to compensate not two last bets but one from left edge of record, one from right.

Next bet 2+4 = 6 chips-itís a winning. (we cross out 2 and 4, a record looks like 3)
A next bet is 3 chips...
It is visible that at the second method the amount of bet grows slower and consequently falling down is not fast. Considered methods - are negative (protective) progressions. Negative progression is an increase of amount of bet at the loss of previous bet and decreasing the bet or transition to the initial bet at winning.
Purpose of the use of negative progression is to shorten the loss that we got at previous bets. Thus to shorten a loss after for less amount of bets than this loss is done. Completion of such progression (a return to initial bet) is getting a non-negative balance.
Essential point- a question about the game using negative progression: "What to do if it is impossible r to follow progression further (to multiply a bet)?" To continue to play on the maximally attained bet? To begin progression with an initial bet? To complete a session? On this question, everybody answers on his own. The authors of the systems usually walk around this ticklish moment by a side.
But the decrease of loss is not primary purpose of game of roulette. Usually people play roulette to win.
Letís get back to the bet with 1 chip on a simple chance. How to get the maximal winning from a bet with 1 chip? To put all winning again. Letís assume that we won the first bet an the next bet is 2 chips. We won again and next bet is 4 chips. We risk in this case only by 1 chip from the personal funds, in case of winning every next bet we increase winning in 2 times.
So we did one of the oldest systems of game ogf roulette - PARLAY.
Parlay is one of the positive (attacking) progressions.
Positive progression is an increase of amount of bet at winning of previous bet and decreasing of a bet or transition to the initial bet at a loss.
Purpose of the use of positive progression - to increase winning that we got at previous bets.
Completion of such progression results a receipt of the sufficient winning or loss of a next bet(series of bets).
Is this progression worth using?
Some players consider the use of progressions a road which unavoidable leads to the loss.
Other suggest to limit any progression (both positive and negative) to 2-3 steps, and then to pass to the initial bet.
The third consider that without you shouldnít play a roulette at all without using progressions.
When we were talking about progressions, we examined them on the example of bets on simple chances. But it does not mean that progressions can not be used for the game by other bets (dozens/columns, internal bets). Using of progressions on different chances sometimes gives very interesting results. We wonít examine the game by the fixed bets in details. Fixed bets are bets of identical amount, amount of bet does not change depending on the result of previous bet. At the game with fixed bets the prediction of result of the spin is very important, that itself is the most interesting theme for the discussion at the game of roulette. We will look at the "bets with securing" and "combined" bets in brief.
Bets with securingLetís suppose that we play by the fixed bets (10-25 chips) on red/black. With an intricate system we are trying to predict what is going to drop out: red or black? Suddenly in the most unsuitable moment zero drops out. The prediction of red/black is itself hard task and if to try to predict zero then it is hell of a job. For simplification of calculations, we backup every bet on red/black with a little bet on zero. Now when zero drops out it is not so unexpected for us. Certainly winning becomes less in the basic game (on red/black), but zero stops to be killing for us. Obviously, that the optimal correlation of bet on a simple chance to backup on zero is 35/1. Another variant of securing. We conduct the game on two, three, four numbers. We have the difficult system of prediction, what numbers are more probable, what must appear during nearest 2-3 spins and etc It is possible to simplify the game for yourself - to close 18 numbers by a bet on a simple chance. The field for the game decreases, we try to predict the drop out of numbers from 19, instead of from 37 - that facilitates our calculations. Correlation of bet on numbers and "securing" on a simple chance is 1:1.
Combined bets.The simplest example of combined bet is 10 chips on "black" and 5 bets with 1 chip on different "red numbers". At the drop out of "black" we lose 5 chips on "red numbers" and win 10 chips on "black". Total winning is 5 chips. At the drop out of one of "red" numbers, on which the bet was done, we lose 4 chips on the other "red" numbers and 10 chips on "black" and we win 35 chips on a "red numberĒ. Total winning is 21 chips. At the drop out of closed "red" number or zero we lose everything. Total loss is 15 chips. Combination of internal and external bets can give pretty interesting results.
